What is one habit of yours that helps you be productive?

Yoga

What is your morning routine and how does it help you get the most out of your day?

Yoga, meditation, exercise

In the last few years, what lifestyle, habit or behavior change has had the biggest positive impact on your life?

Meditation and yoga have helped me greatly both mentally and physically.

When you feel unfocused, what do you do?

I’ll go for a surf, walk or something to take a break and enjoy nature so I can come back refreshed.

What is one piece of software or a web service that you get immense value out of? How do you use it?

G Suite from Google. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gchat are really amazing and allow for teams to work effectively remotely

What is the one book you recommend most often and why?

Start With Why, by Simon Sinek. I think it’s so important to understand “why”. This influences who you hire, the culture you create and the brand your consumers see.

What advice would you give a smart and ambitious recent college graduate? What advice should they ignore?

Be humble, ask smart questions and work hard. When you’re young the most important thing you can do is to identify what you’re passionate about and work really really hard to be successful. Identify people you think are successful both personally and professionally and ask a lot of questions on how they got to where they are.

Bad advice: Only the paranoid survive. I believe this is a shitty way to live and doesn’t provide an edge.

What is your favorite quote, one you aim to live by?

Both from Yvon Chouinard
“The more you know, the less you need.”
“To do good, you actually need to do something.”
