Marlin Erickson, Business owner of PPR Industries, Inc. We manufacture, import and distribute rubber products to John Deer Manufacturing Company and other OE companies.
What has been one insight or lesson that has been most helpful in your career?
Do not take a fellow business associate “at their word” but always have a business agreement documented.
What has been your favorite mistake? A mistake that in retrospect led to a great lesson and progress.
Nepotism. The lesson learned is to at least limit the number of related persons because it can affect business decisions.
Project forward ten years. How will your industry or field be fundamentally different then? What opportunities do you see?
Business departments will be completely virtual in operations, thusly bringing faster business agreements, business decision and communication.
What are some bad recommendations you hear in your profession or area of expertise?
Such words as ” oh, you can do it or deal with it tomorrow”.
In the last two years, what have you become better at saying no to?
My management team.

Wisdom for each Day written by Billy Graham. Nothing is better than grounded truth and guidance.
What advice would you give a smart and ambitious recent college graduate? What advice should they ignore?
Do your research and listen to your “gut”. Then “GO!” Ignore The Words – are you sure?!
What is your favorite quote, one you aim to live by?
If you want something in LIFE, react and move forward with a positive attitude. Doubt will never be a reward.
