Ryan Tripp

Who are you, and what do you do?

My name is Ryan Tripp. I am 26 years old and run my own online fitness business.

What is one habit of yours that helps you be productive?

Being extremely organized.

I have OCD and while I used to not be able to figure out why I always seemed distracted or unable to focused i realized that it was i lacked organization.

It is the single biggest game changer for me.

I never have to think where a password is, where physical items are, or remember silly things like appointment times.

Be organized, it helps with everything and helps when training someone to work in or on any aspect of your business.

I use freelancers for multiple different components of my business and the ability to have them work effectively because you have an organized portfolio of everything makes it a breeze.

What is your morning routine and how does it help you get the most out of your day?

This is something that is actively changing for me.

I am learning that waking up earlier gives me the feeling of momentum, less anxiety, and overall better mood.

I will 100 percent admit that I don’t adhere to it every single day quite yet but i’m getting very close.

The routine: (the structure allows me freedom to plan whatever I need, or want to do but maximizes my productivity)

Wake up between 5:00 am
I have two shaker cups full of water & BCAA’s EVERY morning.
I don’t turn my phone on until 9-10 am. (this lets me focus on my MIT’s)
I work on my Most important tasks for 3 hours first thing every morning, completely uninterrupted.
The MIT’s are planned out the night before.
I eat at 10:00am and take a short break
I proceed to work in 30-60 minute blocks until 2:00 pm
I workout, eat & proceed to finish any remaining daily tasks and then plan out my next day.
I aim to shut off my phone by 8:00pm during the week & get to bed at 10:00pm or before.

In the last few years, what lifestyle, habit or behavior change has had the biggest positive impact on your life?

1) Working out 5-6 times per week.
2) Getting Organized.
3) Learning to implement & take action fast rather than procrastinate or contemplate.

When you feel unfocused, what do you do?

Take 5-10 minutes to clear my head & review my goals.

What is one piece of software or a web service that you get immense value out of? How do you use it?

Clickfunnels

Easily build landing pages, membership areas and websites and order forms.

What is the one book you recommend most often and why?

The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone.

It hammers the concept of do more into your brain.

The book teaches you that if you want to build something no matter what it may be to 10X everything …literally.

Put in 10 times the effort, get 10x the results.

Might sound like a cliche concept but I can’t explain to you enough what the book did for me.

It forced me to completely reframe my entire thought process.

What advice would you give a smart and ambitious recent college graduate? What advice should they ignore?

Advice, just go for it. Get started, and move & make decisions fast!

Avoid negativity at all costs. Whether it’s friends or family, negativity needs to be eliminated.

Value opinions of friends and family, but do not let it keep you from following what you want and taking a leap of faith and trying something.

Ignore anyone that tells you to be “practical”

You will never be criticized by anyone doing more than you, only by someone doing less than you.
